SHAH ALAM, June 1 – The Ziarah Medik programme, managed by the Selangor Women’s Welfare and Charity Organisation (Pekawanis), is set to enter its next phase this month, as announced by its chairman Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad.
The second phase will see Ziarah Medik extend its assistance to over 400 chronic patients across 40 state constituencies.
“We successfully concluded Ziarah Medik’s initial phase in March, which included a RM2,500 allocation for each state constituency, to be distributed among 10 patients where each received RM250 in assistance.

“Due to the positive public response in the first phase across 38 state constituencies, we are proceeding with the subsequent phase, maintaining the same allocation. A total of RM200,000 has been set aside for this year’s Ziarah Medik programme,” she announced during the Mother’s Day celebration and Pekawanis’ 15th Anniversary event, at the IDCC Convention Centre yesterday.
The event was graced by the presence of the Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.
As Ziarah Medik enters its third year, it places priority on supporting single mothers and disabled individuals from B40 families.
