SHAH ALAM, Aug 22 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari started his new term at the Selangor secretariat building here today.
Amirudin arrived at 7.58am and, at 8am sharp, scanned into the Menteri Besar’s Office on Level 21 of the building.
Upon arrival, he was greeted by State Secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim and administrative staff.
The 16th Menteri Besar will officially start his duties by attending a gathering for civil servants and launching a Jalur Gemilang campaign at Auditorium Dewan Jubli Perak here.
Yesterday, the Sungai Tua assemblyman was sworn in for his second term at Istana Alam Shah, Klang, before Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
Amirudin, who is also Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) chairman, was reappointed to office after Harapan and Barisan Nasional won 34 of the 56 assembly seats at the August 12 state elections.
In the polls, he defended the Sungai Tua seat, which he has held since 2008, by defeating Perikatan Nasional’s Muhammad Hanif Jamaluddin and Independent candidate G. Suman.
