MB extends condolences to Jui Meng’s family

SHAH ALAM, Dec 3 – Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has extended condolences to the families of former health minister Datuk Chua Jui Meng, who died yesterday.

“He is a former health minister who served in the position for nine years and has contributed massively to the people of Malaysia.

“May his family remain steadfast in facing this trial,” he said in a post on X today.

It was reported yesterday that Chua died at the Serdang Hospital at 4.04pm. He was 80.

He was the country’s longest serving health minister from 1995 to 2004 and a five-term MP for Bakri from 1986 and 2008, when he was with MCA.

Chua was an MCA vice-president before joining Parti Keadilan Rakyat.

He was also Johor Keadilan chairman for five years from 2009 to 2014.
