Puchong to be equipped with various amenities as Greater Klang Valley’s heart

SUBANG JAYA, June 23 — Puchong, which is becoming the central development point of the Greater Klang Valley, is set to grow more rapidly by providing all the necessary amenities for the people.

State executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han said the development would also be sustainable, including preserving environmental beauty, thus ensuring well-being and balance for a livable life.

“Puchong will become the heart of the Greater Klang Valley, and this is a challenge for us as we continually upgrade and provide basic amenities.

“Compared to 20 years ago, we have made many changes for the benefit of the people. We have expanded the transportation network, and in the future, we will inject various other facilities,” he said.

Ng was speaking at the opening of the Puchong Community Arts Festival (Coart) at the Taman Wawasan Recreational Park today.

He added that Puchong will also have an international-standard sports complex to facilitate its residents’ engagement in healthy activities.

“This complex is equipped with futsal courts, basketball courts, and a safe jogging track. We hope all these facilities will provide comfort and that the younger generation can build their families here,” Ng said.

Greater Klang Valley, first announced during the 2024 Selangor Budget tabling last year, integrates Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang.

It has the potential to become a major economic hub in Southeast Asia and could be listed among the top five valleys in Asia if fully realised.

Meanwhile, the councillor said Coart, which showcases the local community’s arts and culture, is expected to attract 8,000 participants from yesterday to today.

“This festival highlights the arts and cultural life in Puchong and serves as a platform to unite various ethnic groups, encouraging residents to appreciate the beauty of nature and balance recreational and artistic activities,” he said.
