SABAK BERNAM, June 9 — The organisation of Unity Week 2024 can foster a sense of unity among the community, especially youths.
State executive councillor for unity Datuk Rizam Ismail said this demographic could engage in the activities provided, thereby strengthening communal relations.

“Various activities, including sports, cultural events, and educational programmes, are being held, which can nurture a spirit of unity within the community.
“Certainly, the community, particularly youths, needs such programmes, and we continuously support them, especially when they are organised in rural areas,” he said during the launch of the programme at Dewan Seri Nakhoda today.
Meanwhile, the Department of National Unity and Integration’s deputy director general cum strategic planning director Mohd Fardhi Ahmad said that holding the programme in rural areas aims to ensure that the surrounding residents are not left out.

“Typically, we organise such programmes in urban areas, but this time, we chose Sabak Bernam to instil elements of unity among the multi-religious and multi-racial community.
“The public’s response has been very encouraging, and we will continue to organise it in both urban and rural areas to enhance the spirit of togetherness,” he said.
