Fama records RM1.2 bln in total sales in first half of 2024

KOTA BHARU, July 27 — The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) recorded total sales of RM1.2 billion from various programmes held nationwide up to June this year.

Its chairman Aminuddin Zulkipli said that with this figure, Fama is confident of achieving the remaining RM800 million by the end of this year, thereby reaching the sales target of RM2 billion set for 2024.

“The Agro Madani sales programme has been one of the highest contributors, generating approximately RM80 million through 4,102 sales series, along with Fama Fest and other Fama sales branches,” he told the press after officiating Fama Fest yesterday.

Fama Fest, which began in 2017, has recorded RM24 million in sales with the participation of 2,180 entrepreneurs up until last year.

For this year, Fama aims to achieve a sales target of RM7.85 million with the involvement of 755 entrepreneurs.

Aminuddin added that the programme contributes to local economic recovery efforts and has a significant impact through business matching and direct sales from entrepreneurs to consumers.

Eight Fama Fest locations are planned throughout this year, with six already implemented, including in Kelantan from July 24 to July 28, followed by Kuala Lumpur and Sabah soon.
