Agro Madani sales benefit over 10 mln households — Fama

JASIN, Aug 24 — The Agro Madani Sales, conducted nationwide from January 1 to Sunday (August 18), have benefited 10.04 million households, generating RM29.5 million in savings, said Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) senior director (marketing institution development) Isa Hamzah.

During this period, RM98.4 million in sales value was recorded through 4,669 events.

“The Agro Madani Sales not only benefit households but also support entrepreneurs, with 65,114 participants as of August this year. We anticipate this number will rise to 80,000.

“This year, we aim to host 5,000 sales events nationwide, providing further benefits and savings to consumers,” he said.

Isa was speaking to the press after the launch of a special sale, in conjunction with the 67th National Day Celebration, at Jasin Farmers’ Market, which was also attended by Melaka Fama director Nor Azhar Abdul Hamid.

He added that the Agro Madani Sale is designed to help consumers save money, thus alleviating the burden of the rising cost of living.

The initiative also serves as a platform for agricultural entrepreneurs to directly market their products to consumers.

Meanwhile, Azhar said the three-day special sale, held in conjunction with the state-level 67th National Day celebration, is taking place at seven locations across the state. The sale will continue until tomorrow.

The locations include Lubok China Farmers’ Market (yesterday), Jasin Farmers’ Market and the Masjid Tanah Farmers’ Market (today), as well as the Ayer Molek Farmers’ Market, the Merlimau Farmers’ Market, the Taman Maju Farmers’ Market, and the Alor Gajah Farmers’ Market (tomorrow).

100 Agro Madani Sale combo sets, which include flour, sugar, cooking oil, and vermicelli, are being sold at RM10 per set. Other products on sale include Grade C eggs (RM10 per tray) and 10 kilogrammes of local white rice at RM26 per packet.

“The special sale at these seven locations is expected to attract approximately 82,000 visitors, with a targeted sales value of RM410,000.

“This initiative is aimed at providing consumers with more shopping options and helping them obtain essential items for the National Day celebration,” he said.
