SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — The state government has assured licensed traders who do business at the Shah Alam Stadium Bazarena will be housed in a designated area at the Shah Alam Sports Complex (KSSA) when it is completed in 2026.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the Bazarena business site, which houses traders from farmers’ markets and “pasar karat” at the stadium, is included in the KSSA development plan.
“In the (KSSA) plan, there is indeed an area for (traders) to do business.
“God willing, I will make sure all traders can continue doing business, (but only) the licensed ones,” he said, commenting on concerns voiced by some traders who claimed only some of them were given slots in KSSA.
He said this after the monthly assembly for state civil servants at Dewan Jubli Perak here today.
In December, Amirudin reportedly said the Shah Alam City Council had issued an approval to demolish the Shah Alam Stadium, and that demolition work would start only after the developer met requirements set by the local authority.
The Shah Alam Stadium demolition reportedly involves a cost of RM35.5 million, with the reconstruction of the stadium expected to be completed by the end of 2026, while the overall development of KSSA will be completed by the end of 2029.
