KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS), through Esports Integrated (ESI), has increased the allocation for the KBS ESports Fund 2024 from RM250,000 to RM 1 million.
A statement issued by ESI today said the RM1 million will be divided into two categories, with RM700,000 is given to the public with a maximum funding limit of RM30,000, and the remaining for public and private universities with a maximum funding limit of RM15,000.
According to ESI, the increase in funds is expected to increase the number of beneficiaries and drive the growth of the country’s esports ecosystem.
“This fund covers various initiatives, including talent development, organising e-sports events and competitions, upgrading e-sports facilities, e-sports science and research initiatives, as well as community esports programmes.
“Small organisations, clubs, associations and companies that need financial assistance to organise esports programmes, competitions and events are invited to apply,” read the statement.
Applications for the KBS ESports Fund 2024 must be made online. The closing date is August 27.
Successful applicants are required to organise their programme before November 30.
