SHAH ALAM, Sept 11 — The riverbank restoration project near Taman Bukit Serdang in Section 8, Seri Kembangan, is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Seri Kembangan state assemblyman Wong Siew Ki said the Irrigation and Drainage Department has allocated RM45,000 to repair the underground pipes and the collapsed riverbank.
“This project has provided relief to around 100 nearby households, who were previously concerned about their children’s safety, especially when playing in the nearby playground.
“The local councillor was informed of the issue, and the matter was then reported to the relevant authorities, and the repairs are now underway.
“We hope the project can be completed quickly, before the end of the year,” she said when contacted.
Wong added that her office takes residents’ complaints seriously, particularly those related to safety.
“When it comes to safety, there is no compromise. If a complaint is made, we will investigate and take appropriate action swiftly,” she said.
On Monday (September 9), she inspected the riverbank restoration project alongside Subang Jaya City Council member Tey Boon Kiat.
