King, Queen wish nation a happy Malaysia Day

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, King and Queen of Malaysia, today extended Malaysia Day greetings to all Malaysians.

Their Majesties conveyed their greetings in a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s Facebook page.

Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah also prayed for Malaysia’s continued protection, blessings, and enduring prosperity.

“Tolerance and respect for one another, regardless of religion or race, have always been the backbone of our national unity.

“I consistently emphasise that unity in our multiracial society is the most meaningful gift to me,” said Sultan Ibrahim.

Malaysia Day commemorates the formation of the nation.

The national-level Malaysia Day celebration will be held tonight at Padang Merdeka in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
