SHAH ALAM, Oct 25 — Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV), managed by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS), joined a campaign to plant 100 million trees by 2025 at its farm in Rawang.

The Peninsular Malaysia Forestry Department (JPSM) said on Facebook that 400 psidium guava trees were planted in SFV last week under the Malaysian Greening Programme.

“This programme was held in collaboration with the Selangor State Forestry Department and INTI International College Subang towards the aim of planting 100 million trees in five years, from 2021 to 2025.

“The programme aims to encourage the involvement from and cooperation with education institutions in realising the campaign,” it said.

The event was attended by PKPS security sector operations manager Mohd Ismail Abdul Aziz, JPSM assistant director (forest conservation) Nurul Hidayah Hadzuha, and SFV senior assistant manager Raja Muhammad Faiz.

In 2021, the federal government launched the campaign to protect the nation’s natural environment in all socio-economic development activities.

The 100 Million Tree Planting Campaign is part of the Malaysian Greening Programme, a national agenda for climate change and to raise the people’s quality of life.
