PM condemns Israel for killing Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has condemned the Israeli Zionist regime for killing Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who fought for and defended Palestinians.

Anwar said Malaysia is against the assassination of the Hamas political bureau chief, and that it is clear Israel’s attempt to weaken Palestine’s liberation cause will not succeed.

“Once again, the international community has failed to uphold and ensure peace and justice, further worsening the (Israeli-Palestinian) conflict,” he said in a Facebook post today.

The Prime Minister called on the international community to stand up to Israel’s atrocities and demanded an immediate halt to the ongoing massacre of Palestinians.

Yesterday, Hamas confirmed Yahya Sinwar was killed in an attack by Israel on Thursday.

Yahya Sinwar was appointed Hamas’ political bureau chief to replace Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in Tehran in August.
