SEPANG, Oct 15 — Tourism Selangor is forming a strategic collaboration with the Petronas Sepang International Circuit to promote the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign during the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia (MotoGP 2025), from November 1 to November 3.

State executive councillor for tourism Dato’ Ng Suee Lim said the partnership aims to create early awareness of the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign promotion to 200,000 local and international visitors throughout the motorsport event.

“This is to ensure the state government’s target of receiving eight million tourist arrivals in conjunction with Visit Selangor Year 2025 is achieved.

“This event is also expected to contribute towards the target of RM11.2 billion in tourism receipts by 2025, which will undoubtedly help boost Selangor’s economy,” he said.

Ng was speaking at a press conference to promote Visit Selangor Year 2025 in conjunction with the MotoGP2025 championship, at the Sepang International Circuit media centre today.

Simultaneously, he said Tourism Selangor will provide various information and promotions on the state’s tourist attractions for visitors through exhibitions during the event.

The extreme tourism exhibition will promote activities like Jugra paragliding by the Malaysian Paragliding Association, white water rafting by Project Outdoor, and kayaking by Hikers Climbers.

“In addition, there will be cultural performances by the Department of Arts and Culture during the MotoGP 2024’s official launch.

“Entrepreneurs from the Selangor Platform (PLATS), managed by the Menteri Besar Selangor Foundation (Incorporated) or MBI, will set up exhibitions selling local foods including satay, punten, rojak, and pastries,” he said.
