KUALA SELANGOR, Nov 9 — The 2025 Selangor Budget, to be tabled on November 15, is expected to focus on efforts to develop a food security hub within the state.

State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Izham Hashim said emphasis will be placed on producing high-quality agricultural crops and breeding livestock to ensure a continuous food supply.

“InsyaAllah, the budget will provide for Selangor to initiate high-tech cattle breeding processes and cultivate crops that we (the state) believe will substantially impact our national food security.

“In addition, there will be a focus on the development of a food supply warehouse in Kuala Selangor, making us the first state to implement such an initiative, which is what I am hoping for,” he said.

Izham was speaking to the press officiating the handover ceremony of the Raw Water Guarantee Scheme’s Package B, at Kolam Hang Tuah 5 along Jalan Rantau Panjang in Bestari Jaya yesterday.

Meanwhile, Izham said the Jualan Ehsan Rahmah programme will continue next year, with plans to open more Ehsan Mart outlets in other districts.

“The method of organising the programme via mobile or physical locations will be reduced next year to transition towards Ehsan Mart, which was launched in Sungai Tua in September,” he explained.

The 2025 Selangor Budget will outline several specific initiatives to drive the economy and attract investment to the state.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said several additional initiatives would be introduced to ensure shared economic prosperity.
