SHAH ALAM, Nov 4 — Five Inisiatif Buku Darul Ehsan (IBDE) books, published in collaboration with Media Selangor, have been listed in the October bestselling translated releases list.
IBDE on its Facebook page said four of the releases were Memelihara Jiwa: Petua Daripada Tabib Kurun ke-9, Cetera Falsafah dan Muslihat Mahathir: Mengharung Zaman Gelora, Mata-mata Gelap Malaya: Peranan Cawangan Khas pada Zaman Darurat 1945–60, and Gelagat dan Ragam Orang Melayu.
The final release, Muhammad: Riwayat Hidup Berdasarkan Sumber Terawal by Martin Lings, which was published in collaboration with the Selangor Public Library Corporation, was the bestselling title last month.
IBDE said nearly half of October’s chart was filled with Malaysiana titles and biographies of local leaders.
It added that 40 Hadis Imam Nawawi: Sebuah Huraian untuk Dunia Semasa, sixth on the list, was also highly sought after.
“Suitable as a learning material, the hadith study by Imam Ali Jum’ah, ex-head mufti of Egypt, comes in duotone text to ease the reading experience,” he said.
IBDE, which is funded by Selangor government grants, publishes translated books across genres including history, philosophy, and religion, with some original copies dating back thousands of years.
IBDE publications can be found at Rencana bookstore in Sri Damansara or online at bukuibde.com.
