SHAH ALAM, Nov 22 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), through its foundation, is allocating RM15 million next year to ensure the success of the state’s various educational development initiatives.
Yayasan MBI chief Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said these include the Selangor People’s Tutoring Programme (PTRS), back-to-school programme, school infrastructure repairs, and assistance for parent-teacher associations (PTA).
In addition, funds will be allocated for empowerment programmes as a form of encouragement and recognition for those who have helped elevate Selangor’s name in various national and international events.
“The school infrastructure repair programme will continue next year with an allocation of RM1 million, along with RM500,000 to assist the PTAs.
“We also have an empowerment programme fund to support Selangor students competing in international events such as robotics and dance,” he said after the Madani Open Day programme at the Petaling Perdana District Education Office (PPD) here yesterday.
Previously, MBI chief executive officer Saipolyazan M Yusop had said that the state subsidiary is committed to optimising operational and development expenditures across all five pillars of the 2025 Selangor Budget.
He said the pillars announced by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari establish a strong framework for Selangor’s leadership in the national economic landscape.
On a separate matter, Azri said over 500 traders have benefited from the U-PLATS Digital Entrepreneur Development Training Programme since 2023. It is the first phase of the Selangor Platform (PLATS) business training programme, later followed by U-PLATS Halal (Phase Two) and U-PLATS Expand (Phase Three).
Azri said U-PLATS Digital features three modules focusing on business transactions, digital business presence, and content and business promotion.
“After completing the three modules in U-PLATS Digital, eligible participants who meet the criteria will advance to the next phase, U-PLATS Halal, which provides exposure on halal methods and assessments of business readiness for halal certification.
“They will also be trained to develop internal halal control system files and prepare for pre-assessment halal audits.
“Participants who are then evaluated and deemed qualified will proceed to U-PLATS Expand, focusing on business expansion and export, with a target of 10 participants next year,” he said.
U-PLATS Expand was first announced during the tabling of the 2025 Selangor Budget, and will be implemented in collaboration with Perbadanan Nasional Bhd.
