Move to Putrajaya? MB will finish his term first, says aide

SHAH ALAM, Nov 14 — Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari looks set to see out his current term as Selangor Menteri Besar amid speculations of a possible federal appointment, said his press secretary Jay Jay Denis.

He said the Selangor Pakatan Harapan chairman remains focused on delivering his state agenda.

“His goal is to stay in office and complete his term because many of the promises made by the Menteri Besar, especially those related to infrastructure, take time to come to fruition.

“Take the Shah Alam Stadium redevelopment, for example. When it was first announced, people were upset, questioning how they could make such changes to Shah Alam, given its rich history and importance to the Selangor football team.

“But now, people are asking when it (new stadium) will be completed. He is committed to seeing these projects through. He’s dedicated to completing all these initiatives, a lot of which started under his leadership,” said Jay Jay in Selangor Journal’s Lunch on Us! talk show today, which focuses on the 2025 Selangor State Budget, scheduled to be tabled tomorrow.

Jay Jay’s comments come amid rumours that Amirudin could be given a ministerial position, as a Cabinet reshuffle looms in view of the expiration of Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz’s senatorship next year.

Amirudin’s visit to Russia in September, along with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s, also fuelled the rumour mill.
