SHAH ALAM, Nov 12 — A sinkhole has appeared on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), forcing the closure of the emergency lane and partial closure of the left lane at KM18.6 southbound between Kota Damansara and Damansara.

In a post on Facebook, NKVE highway operator Plus Malaysia Bhd advised motorists traversing the highway to be cautious.

It also urged road users to plan their journey using the PLUS app and to follow @plustrafik for real-time updates.

The sinkhole appeared following thunderstorms and heavy rain this morning across the Klang Valley, with several locations being hit by flash floods

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm warnings for several areas in Selangor. The 10am advisory warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, and Petaling, as well as Kuala Lumpur, until 1pm.

Authorities have urged residents and commuters in the Klang Valley to stay alert for flash floods and road disruptions due to the severe weather conditions.
