SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — Leading digital transformation solutions company UST launched its GenAI Centre of Excellence in Cyberjaya today, marking a new initiative focused on advancing artificial intelligence (AI) technology in Selangor and Malaysia.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, who attended the inauguration ceremony, described the opening of the facility as a step towards building “a more innovative future” for both the state and country.
“Since beginning its operations in Malaysia in 2006, UST Malaysia has grown to become one of the company’s largest and most significant delivery centres globally.
“This growth is a testament to UST’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and strong commitment to Malaysia. Their pursuit of innovation and quality is evident in their extensive range of services, including data analytics, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure.
“This new chapter isn’t just about pioneering technologies, it’s about paving the way for a brighter, more innovative future for Selangor and Malaysia,” he said in a post on X.
The new facility comprises UST’s new office and a GenAI experience centre.
UST, which designs and builds end-to-end next-generation hardware and software product solutions and is headquartered in California, the United States, opened its first office in Cyberjaya in 2006.
Amirudin said Selangor remains committed to leading in digital transformation, embracing the potential of AI, and fostering an ecosystem where talent, research, and innovation converge.
“AI will be one of the main focuses in the 2025 Selangor State Budget, which will be tabled on Friday.
“Congratulations to UST for their unwavering vision and partnership. Together, we will drive Malaysia’s digital future forward.”
Founded in 1999, UST has grown into a global leader in digital transformation, with over 30,000 associates across 30 countries.
On November 2, state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said the state budget is set to focus on strengthening the semiconductor and AI industries.
He added that emphasis will be placed on nurturing more local technology experts in these fields to create high-paying jobs.
