SHAH ALAM, Dec 3 — The Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (Idriss) serves as a key catalyst for economic growth in the area, said state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han.

The state government has announced various incentives to encourage the participation of investors and developers in the project.

He said the incentives include interest-free instalments for development charges and a five-year exemption on business licence fees.

Additionally, Idriss also has savings on land premiums through the Special Premium Scheme Incentive, alongside a 50 per cent discount on land and vacant building taxes for up to three years.

With nine active projects underway, it is set to strengthen Selangor’s competitiveness by implementing strategic projects planned for the area.

“This initiative demonstrates the state government’s commitment to providing a comprehensive investment package to attract local and foreign investors.

“It also contributes to sustainable development and improves the standard of living for the people of Selangor,” said Ng in a Facebook post yesterday.

Idriss involves the development of over 16,000 hectares, ensuring equitable distribution of the state’s economic activities and creating more job opportunities.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that Idriss, located in Sepang and Kuala Langat, will establish new investment hubs and industrial zones under the First Selangor Plan.

Proposed developments include sectors like industrial manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, ports, business, housing, tourism, and education.
