KLANG, Dec 12 — The Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) plans to upgrade its resource centre next year into a heritage gallery that will highlight the local authority’s 134-year history.
Klang Mayor Dato’ Abd Hamid Hussain said RM500,000 has been allocated to redevelop, redesign, and revitalise the place.
The gallery will feature historical photographs of Klang’s evolution, including the mayor’s robes, documents, and various artefacts.
“The upgrade work is set to begin in the middle of next year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Contractors and consultants have already been appointed,” he said after officiating the pre-launch event today.
Hamid added that the gallery will also serve as a research hub for students and attract local and international tourists.
“It will serve as an important resource for students, particularly since history is a compulsory subject.
“I also hope it will attract international tourists, providing them with a deeper understanding of Klang,” he said.
