SHAH ALAM, Dec 13 — The fifth Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) will undergo a rebrand to incorporate more diverse components beyond its traditional aviation showcase, said Ng Sze Han.
The state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility said the upcoming air show will explore new locations to better serve its audience and expand its focus to include a diverse landscape ecosystem.
“We will continue the Selangor Aviation Show, but perhaps we will do a little bit of rebranding.
“We will include more elements or more components to offer more for the participants and visitors as we will focus on MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) and also on other services like airline services” he told Selangor Journal after delivering the SAS 2024 appreciation speech at Mardhiyyah Hotel & Suites here today.
Ng said this would include airline services and related sectors, offering greater variety for participants and visitors.
In his speech, Ng highlighted that the fifth edition of SAS will comprise several key components and programmes, each targeting different sectors of the aviation and aerospace industry in Malaysia and Asean.
“As we prepare for the upcoming Asean Summit, we need to ensure Selangor’s aerospace capabilities are prominently showcased, highlighting our infrastructure, talent, and strategic location.
“With the Asean aerospace industry projected to grow significantly, at an annual market value exceeding US$50 billion (RM222.6 billion), Selangor must position itself as the gateway into Asean’s aerospace market,” he said, adding that one of the focus areas of growth includes vendor development.
