State bears full costs for losses due to collapsed school roof

SHAH ALAM, Dec 6 — Selangor has approved an allocation for repairs at SJKT Ladang Batu Ampat in Klang, whose ceiling and roof caved in today.

State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication V. Papparaidu said the state administration will bear the full cost of learning materials damaged in the incident, as the school appeared to be in dire straits.

“The incident where a ceiling collapsed at SJKT Ladang Batu Ampat is highly concerning. I immediately visited the site to see the situation for myself. It was indeed dangerous,” he said.

In a statement today, Papparaidu said the comfort and safety of schoolchildren will always be the state government’s priority.

Also present during the school visit was Klang District Education Office deputy education officer (student development) Ahmad Lutfi Mohamed Yazid.
