SHAH ALAM, Jan 21 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, reaffirmed its commitment to Selangor’s socio-economic growth, having channelled RM71.58 million to various state initiatives last year while charting an ambitious course for next year.

In his maiden address this year, MBI chief executive officer Dato’ Saipolyazan M. Yusop said the agency has contributed significantly to the state’s education, economic, and community development.

“Of the total, RM10.6 million was channelled towards education, RM8.13 million to initiatives supporting the ummah, and RM7.29 million for community development,” he said in a video .

Saipolyazan said another RM18.88 million was invested in economic growth, with MBI subsidiaries like Media Selangor Sdn Bhd and Tourism Selangor playing key roles in these efforts.

In addition, RM10 million was allocated for sports development, RM4 million to promote local entrepreneurship through the Platform Selangor programme, and RM2.75 million for the Sabak Bernam Development Area.

To improve digital connectivity across the state, MBI contributed RM500,000 to enhance internet infrastructure.

Looking ahead to 2025, Saipolyazan expressed MBI’s ambition to position itself as a catalyst for impactful investments, and elevate Selangor to a global standing.

“To achieve this, we will introduce the Group Strategic Blueprint, a comprehensive five-year action plan to guide MBI’s efforts towards sustainable economic growth and innovation,” he said.

He urged all parties to collaborate to achieve these goals, and emphasised the importance of dedication and resilience.

“MBI will intensify efforts and serve as the driving force behind strategic investments and sustainable development.

“This initiative aims to bolster Selangor’s position as a premier investment gateway through economic leadership, portfolio management excellence, and impactful development.

“Let us work tirelessly to ensure the success of our 2025 plans while embracing health and unity to serve our beloved state with excellence,” he said.
