KLANG, Jan 21 — The state government will launch two new incentives next June to support working mothers.
State executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari said the incentives — Asuh Pintar and Tunas — will replace the MamaKerja scheme, which was not continued this year.
“We are conducting a study for Asuh Pintar, which is a year-long incentive of RM100 for kindergartens, targeting recipients who earn RM3,000 and below.
“Tunas is for children at childcare centres, with a subsidy of RM50 for a year,” she told reporters after the launch of the Swift EmpowHER programme by integrated logistics service provider Swift Haulage Bhd at Port Klang here today.

Anfaal added that the distribution model for Asuh Pintar and Tunas is still being studied, with a targeted 1,000 recipients.
“We are aiming for 1,000 people, but we will study the model first as the MamaKerja scheme was well received, with 5,000 recipients and an allocation of RM5 million,” she said.
In December, Anfaal said the state government would review several incentives including MamaKerja to ensure comprehensive aid.
MamaKerja is an incentive for working women detailed in the Selangor government’s manifesto during the August 2023 state election.
The scheme, with a one-off payment of RM1,000, was for working women with three children under 12 and a household income of no more than RM8,000.
