SHAH ALAM, AUG 17: Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali received a courtesy visit from New Zealand High Commissioner Dr Johan Subritzky to strengthen both countries’ trade relations.
According to Mohamed Azmin, during the one-hour meeting, both sides exchanged opinions on investment opportunities in Selangor.
“As any other country and a foreign investor, before placing their investments in any country or state, firstly they want to see its political stability.
“With the slogan of moderation and stability in governance, it is clear that Selangor is able to ensure racial and religious harmony which is conducive for great investments.
“Just look at the giant company Toyota that recently invested RM2 billion in Klang. They would not have invested if Selangor was not peaceful and harmonious. The same goes for UMW and Air Bus that are operating in Selangor,” he said.
He said that to SelangorKini at the State Secretary Building.
In addition, Mohamed Azmin also assured that Selangor is capable of providing highly-skilled, educated and talented human capital in order to fulfil the requirements of New Zealand investors.
“With this confidence, I believe that New Zealand is prepared to look at Selangor as an investment destination that is sustainable, despite the critical situation in Malaysia, as Selangor is still preserving its conducive environment for investment purposes,” he added.
