Air Selangor: Water supply in Hulu Langat 99 per cent restored

KUALA LUMPUR, 15 Oct — Water supply in Hulu Selangor, which faced unscheduled water cuts on Sunday, had been fully restored with several remaining areas will have taps running soon.

In a statement today, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn. Bhd. (Air Selangor) said that some remaining premises located on high ground and those at the end of the distribution system are facing some disruption and low water pressure.

“Efforts have been taken to improve and stabilise the flow at the distribution system to fully restore the water supply,” the statement read.

On Sunday, several areas in the Hulu Langat district faced an unscheduled water supply disruption due to a faulty electrical system at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant,

The incident has caused five raw water pumps to be inoperable, which caused a decrease in treated water from the daily 470 MLD (million litres per day) to 180 MLD.

Some of the areas affected include Balakong, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Country Heights, Cheras Permai, Taman Megah and Kampung Sungai Ramal.

The public can refer to the Air Selangor mobile phone application for the latest update and status on the matter or contact the 15300 helplines or WhatsApp to 019-2800919 or 019-2816793 for further assistance.
