KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 21 — More than 4,000 areas in Selangor are now able to access the free Smart Selangor WiFi.
Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the service, which was implemented since 2015, would benefit communities from various backgrounds in the state.
“The people can access the free WiFi services at public offices, higher institutes and selected residential areas,” he said via his official Twitter account yesterday.
However, Amirudin also cautioned the people to utilise the service given wisely.
He said the rights and freedom to access the internet should not be an excuse for users to breach the ethics of internet use.
“Be a responsible social media user,” he added.
In its effort to increase free internet connectivity state-wide, the state government is also in the midst of improving its Smart Selangor WiFi in rural areas.
