SHAH ALAM, April 8 — Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has urged the remaining 7 to 8 per cent individuals in the state who are still flouting the movement control order (MCO) to value their life by staying at home.
The Selangor Menteri Besar said based on the report presented by the Selangor chief police, the order compliance rate in the state is between 92 to 93 per cent.
“I met with the frontliners yesterday, especially the police and army personnel. I was informed that many people had given unreasonable excuses when stopped at the roadblocks.
“I hope those who flout the order would abide by it as this involves the health of the general public, which is the main priority in the country,” he said in a video interview with Bernama Radio this morning.
Overall, Amirudin said he is satisfied with the enforcement of the second phase of the MCO at the state level.
He said additional measures to break the chain of Covid-19 infections have in place by having police and army personnel stationed at the main entry and exit points in the state.
“The authorities have also barricaded several roads to reduce the number of people leaving the area without valid reasons,” he said.
