Armed robber flees with RM20,000 from bank

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 4 — A man armed with a pistol made off with RM20,000 after robbing a bank in Jalan SS 15/4G, Subang Jaya here yesterday.

Subang Jaya Police chief Assistant Commissioner Risikin Satiman said police received a distress call at about 4.30pm.

“The suspect entered the bank and pushed the security guard before firing a shot in the air.

“He then rushed to the counter and ordered the bank employee to hand over the money before escaping,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Risikin urged those with information on the robber to contact investigating officer Deputy Superintendent Yeoh Chun Shyan at 03-78627222.
