Selvax achieves immunisation target, expands programme nationwide

By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, Aug 21 — The Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) will expand its operation to other states after successfully achieving the vaccination target of more than 100 per cent of the adult population in Selangor and the Klang Valley.

Selvax in a statement said the programme initiated on June 26 by the Selangor government would now focus on vaccinating individuals in states with low vaccination rates.

“In line with the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) aim to achieve herd immunity, Selvax will expand the private vaccination programme to states outside the Klang Valley.

“However, the Selvax programme will continue operating as usual for those who have made vaccination appointments through Selcare’s network of panel clinics and on-site,” read the statement by Selvax yesterday.

It also informed that the Selvax Community outreach programme will be implemented using mobile buses to vaccinate the dropout group and rural population.

In June, the Selangor government had launched the Selvax Industry and Selvax Selvax Community initiatives as an approach to complete and expedite the vaccination process for its people.

The effort involving a financial cost of RM200 million has been recognised by the Federal government and included in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).

Here are the programmes that Selvax will focus on for its next phase of operation:

1. Continue the Selvax private vaccination programme via the Selcare network of panel clinics

2. Sale and distribution of vaccine stocks to clinics, hospitals and private pharmacies (email to [email protected] or call 1800-22-6600 for enquiries)

3. Start the Selvax Community outreach programme for the dropout group and rural residents
