SHAH ALAM, Nov 30 — The recently-concluded Selangor International Business Summit 2021 (SIBS) drew over 25,000 visitors throughout the four-day event, says Dato’ Teng Chang Khim.
The state executive councillor for trade and investment said the event provided 472 booths for local and international participants who participated in nine different programmes, which was organised under the main international business summit.
Teng said SIBS 2021 will also be continued virtually on the state’s official business portal namely www.selangorbusinesshub.my for a period of 12 months.
“SIBS is proof the state government has successfully positioned Selangor’s potential on the global stage.
“The event is one of the initiatives by the state government to rebrand Selangor as the World Trade Hub and the Gateway to the Southeast Asia region,” he said in response to a query from Sungai Air Tawar assemblyman Datuk Rizam Ismail on SIBS, during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly today.
Separately, in answer to a query by Gombak Setia assemblyman Muhammad Hilman Idham on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Teng said a total of 20 trade buyers from local and international companies have met and held discussions with the SMEs during SIBS 2021.
“Additionally, some 152 trade buyers visited the participants virtually, and the state government hopes all the discussion between them will materialise.
“This will help SMEs to expand their business market either in the country or abroad,” he said.
