SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 — Bukit Melawati state assemblyman described the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022) focus to develop Selangor’s northern corridor as a bold move by the state government.
Juwairiya Zulkifli said the large allocation announced in the budget for development projects in Sabak Bernam was unprecedented.
“This development will help in elevating the economy and also the well-being of the people in rural areas because it involves the tourism and agro sectors, which are rural assets that needed development.
“Maybe all this time it (Sabak Bernam) has never been given attention and (now) with the courage of the state government to focus on developing the area, eventually the rural people will get to enjoy similar or better development than before,” she said after the tabling of the 2022 Selangor Budget yesterday.
Menteri Besar when tabling the budget said that several new initiatives will be implemented to develop the economy in the Sabak Bernam district in a more holistic and planned manner.
Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said among the important initiatives identified was the development of downstream industries.
