Thunderstorms, heavy showers forecasted in Klang, Kuala Langat

SHAH ALAM, Feb 1 — Two districts in Selangor, Klang and Kuala Langat are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy showers and strong wind until 12 noon today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a post on Twitter said the warning was issued if signs indicate that thunderstorms with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are expected to occur over a one-hour duration.

“The thunderstorm warnings are short-term, with each warning valid within six hours after being issued,” the agency said this morning.

MetMalaysia has also forecasted similar weather condition in Sarawak, particularly in Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri.
