Exco: Digital parking app receives positive response, ease users

By Mustakim Ramli

SUBANG JAYA, May 8 — The Selangor government has received a positive response for fully implementing a digital parking payment system across the state.

State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said after a month of its enforcement, all parties had welcomed the parking payment method using the Smart Selangor Parking (SSP) instead of the physical scratch-and-display parking coupons.

“Initially, we received about one per cent of complaints when the SSP was first implemented. However, we managed to handle it well. The unused scratch-and-display parking coupons that were purchased earlier could be converted into the e-coupon.

“The use of e-coupons has eased the users. We were informed that over 57,000 old coupons had been converted into e-coupons with a total transaction of nearly RM40,000,” he said when met after attending the Puchong Community Art Festival 2022 at Wawasan Puchong Recreational Park here today.

Beginning April 1, the payment for parking under the local authorities in Selangor had fully migrated to the e-coupon system.

The public can download the SSP app from the Google Playstore, AppStore or the Huawei Store to manage the transactions.

Those who were using scratch-and-display parking coupons are required to register as SSP users to transfer the remaining value of the coupons into credits starting March 26.
