PETALING JAYA, July 18 — The Selangor Digital Entrepreneur Roadshow will be held in the Kuala Selangor district in August.
Bukit Melawati state assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli said that the event aims to introduce rural traders to online business.
“We want people in rural areas to take advantage of the programme, change the way they conduct business, which would keep them up to date.
“The initiative is free and open to small and medium-sized businesses, single mothers, and those operating from their homes, so rural traders should not pass up the opportunity.,” she said when met after launching the third series of the roadshow at the Dewan Sivik MBPJ, Petaling Jaya, on Saturday.
Juwairiya said that in addition to the entrepreneurial roadshow, other efforts were made to assist the group, such as assisting with registration for a halal certification course.
“Apart from introducing them to the digital age, we also encourage the traders and entrepreneurs of food products to receive the halal certificate in order to improve the quality of their products,” she added.
The 2022 roadshow series kicked off in March in Gombak with the participation of nine partners, namely PG Mall, EasyStore, Dropee, Lazada, J&T, Yayasan Hijrah Selangor, Selangor Digital e-Supply Chain (Seldec), Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and Shopee.
