First Selangor Plan to be unveiled this afternoon

SHAH ALAM, July 27 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari is expected to unveil the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) today during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly afternoon session beginning at 3.30pm.

The five-year plan to strengthen the economy and the welfare of the people will be outlined in four main core strategies.

Comprising four themes, namely the economy, social, sustainability, and governance, RS-1 will use these as guiding principles to achieve its targets.

RS-1’s structure also includes economic expansion that coordinates investment strategies, enhances the quality of life, and promotes social inclusion.

Emphasis is also placed on the need for sustainability in order to protect the environment, along with smart and efficient governance by involving both the public and stakeholders.

The plan is divided into four phases, the first of which deals with aligning the visions, frameworks, and objectives.

The second phase concerns diagnostic information and content development, while the third phase will see to the detailing and focus of programmes, followed by the final phase, which is the finalisation of the report and validation sessions.

On July 16, Amirudin stated the state administration has carefully created a living document that can be adjusted to current developments, as part of its efforts to make Selangor a Smart State by 2025.
