SHAH ALAM, Aug 27 — Inclement weather is inbound for seven Selangor districts until 6pm, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a statement issued at 3pm, the agency said the districts include Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat and Sepang.
“Other states and areas which will be affected include Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Melaka, Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub and Bentong), Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah and Rembau), Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru), Sarawak: Serian, Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro), Miri (Subis) and Limbang, and Sabah: Sandakan (Kinabatangan),” it said on Facebook today.
MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
