RM5 affordable goods sale tomorrow in conjunction with National Day — PKPS

SHAH ALAM, Aug 29 — Members of the public can take the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of basic necessities at RM5 via the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat sale at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam tomorrow.

The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) said the sale is in conjunction with the 65th Independence Day this year and includes chicken, fish, imported beef, grade B chicken eggs, and five kg bags of rice.

It said five kg bags of cooking oil will be sold at of RM10 throughout the programme, from 8pm to 1am.

“At market prices, chicken is RM16, fish (RM10), imported meat (RM13.90), B grade chicken eggs (RM12.90) and five kg bags of of rice is RM13.

“But PKPS will be selling these at the special price of RM5, in conjunction with #Merdeka65,” PKPS said in a Facebook post.

Since December last year, the corporation has been conducting the affordable basic necessities sales as part of efforts to reduce the public’s burden in light of rising living costs.

On July 25, state executive councillor for the modernization of agriculture and agro-based industry Izham Hashim said over 80,000 people have since benefitted from the programme.
