SHAH ALAM, Sept 6 — A total of 22 Yayasan Selangor students will enrol in the accounting certification courses with professional accountancy bodies namely the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the Yayasan Selangor’s collaboration with the professional bodies through Tymba Education is the first initiative in Malaysia that provides added value to secondary school students.
“The benefit for the students is that when they finish their Form Five studies, they will get a certificate from CIMA which qualifies them to continue their diploma at ACCA to become certified accountants.
“In fact, when they finish Form Five, they are already qualified to become an accounting clerk, but we hope they won’t stop at that,” he said yesterday.
He said this after officiating the Yayasan Selangor’s education synergy programme with several companies at the Selangor State Secretariat Building here.
Amirudin said he is confident that the collaboration with CIMA and ACCA would increase the quality of Yayasan Selangor students.
“We are currently listing the 22 students who will participate in the two-year programme, which will be fully sponsored by Yayasan Selangor,” he said.
Meanwhile, among the companies involved in the collaboration with Yayasan Selangor are Binapavo@kCOMMERCE (M) Sdn Bhd.
The collaboration with Bina Pavo will see its consultants who are experts in the field of emotions and communication train students sponsored by Yayasan Selangor, especially those under its Talent Development Programme (Cricket sports).
