Downpour in two Selangor districts until noon

SHAH ALAM, Sept 13 — Heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are anticipated for the district of Klang and Kuala Langat until noon today.

Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a statement released at 8.55am said the inclement weather will last until 12pm today.

The agency said other states and locations which are expected to undergo strong weather include Kedah (Langkawi, Kota Setar, Yan and Kuala Muda) and Johor (Pontian and Johor Bahru).

The agency issues a warning when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.

Thunderstorm warnings are short-term and are valid within six hours after it was issued.
