Filter negative thoughts, call Sehat hotline to get counselling — Exco

SHAH ALAM, Sept 24 — Those who constantly have negative thoughts may have mental health issues that can lead to high risk if they do not seek help.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud urged those individuals to practise filtering their negative thoughts and reach out to the Selangor Mental Health (Sehat) hotline to speak to qualified counsellors.

She said there are three steps that people can take to address the problem, which are avoiding creating negative situations and creating positive things for themselves.

“Do not get involved in issues or situations happening around you, especially those that do not concern you.

“If you need someone to listen and get advice, contact a Sehat counsellor,” she said on Facebook.

Those who would like to speak to the counsellors can contact the Sehat 24-hour hotline at 1700-82-7536 or 1700-82-753, through the SELangkah mobile app or visit www.drsitimariah.com/sehat.
