State economy grows, more initiatives for the people

SHAH ALAM, Oct 17 — Selangor has implemented numerous holistic programmes that are beneficial to all its people regardless of their political affiliations.

According to PKR Communications deputy director Adzman Kamaruddin, among the efforts made by the state administration include the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat roadshow, which has a big impact in helping the people facing the rising prices of goods.

“Through the roadshow, the people of Selangor have the opportunity to purchase basic necessities at a fairly low price,” he said in a statement.

Adzman also explained that the state’s economic growth has risen due to teamwork with the increased number of welfare programmes since 2008.

He said that Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had also successfully managed the state’s resources during the Covid-19 outbreak by implementing targeted stimulus packages.

“Selangor is prosperous not because of one individual but due to teamwork and we have witnessed how Amirudin and the administrative team successfully managed the state’s resources during and after the pandemic.

“The targeted stimulus packages such as Kita Selangor Package 1.0 and 2.0 had a great impact in helping the economic recovery of the state and its people,” the statement read

Yesterday, Amirudin informed that Selangor’s economic growth has improved after 2018 due to the teamwork of its state leaders.

In response to allegations that Selangor’s economy is on a decline, he said the state under his administration had contributed 24.8 per cent of the national gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021 compared to 23.2 per cent in 2017.
