SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 – Thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds have been forecasted to hit three districts in Selangor and Klang Valley until 6pm today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a Facebook post said the storms will occur in Gombak, Hulu Langat and Sepang.
In a statement issued at 2.15pm, MetMalaysia said that similar weather conditions will also be experienced in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.
Other states include Perak (Kerian and Larut, Matang and Selama), Kelantan (Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai), Pahang (Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin), Sarawak: Kapit (Belaga), Bintulu (Bintulu and Sebauh), Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang, and Sabah: Pedalaman (Sipitang)
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour or expected to take place for over an hour.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” the statement read.
