SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — The Tabung Pemulihan Projek Terbengkalai (Tepat) fund, which has approximately RM6.98 million remaining, will be used next year in efforts to restore abandoned housing projects.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the fund’s primary goal is to help buyers own their homes from projects that have been abandoned or from derelict infrastructure, as well as to reduce the number of such projects in Selangor.

“Up to the present, two projects involving 274 units are currently being restored through this fund, for the repair work of external infrastructure facilities under village expansion projects,” he said during the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget at the State Legislative Assembly yesterday.

Amirudin added the fund’s selected projects include the one situated at Taman Desa Mawar in Kuala Selangor which costs RM6.36 million and the one at Kampung Koskan in Hulu Selangor which costs RM4.65 million. Both are expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year.

The state government aims to use Tepat’s estimated remaining funds for the rehabilitation of infrastructure and other needs related to abandoned projects, which have been identified by the local authorities.

The Menteri Besar said RM2 million in funds have been made available to restore abandoned projects in areas under the administration of the Shah Alam City Council, which include:

  • Completing the infrastructure for the sewerage system, and obtaining building plan approval together with the certificate of completion and compliance (CCC) for the Taman Nustalgia project in Section 32.
  • Road paving work, works on the Indah Water Konsortium plant, as well as building renovation work for the Taman Andaman 5 project in Section 30.
