SHAH ALAM, Feb 22 — The public can obtain Sejarah Selangor books from Darul Ehsan Book Initiative’s (IBDE) booth (booth three) at the 2023 Kuala Lumpur Alternative Book Festival (KLAB) starting tomorrow to Sunday at Pasar Seni, Kuala Lumpur.

The agency said the latest 344-page translation covers the history of Selangor from the state’s establishment in 1766 to 1939.

“This history covers aspects of life in Selangor that are closely related to the Malay state government, the power struggle that broke out, mining activities, agriculture and plantations.

“In addition to the Selangor civil war, British colonial intervention, state progress and many more,” it said on Facebook.

IBDE is offering a 10 per cent discount on all its published book titles at the book fair.

Previously, IBDE sales and marketing manager Ainunl Muaiyanah Muhammad Sulaiman said the Sejarah Selangor book was published with the consent of the Selangor Sultan Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and was edited by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

She said the special manuscript tells the origin of places in Selangor and is a reference for many parties as it is translated from the book History of Selangor by JM Gullick.
