SHAH ALAM, June 27 — The SplashMania water theme park in Gamuda Cove, Banting, is set to be launched by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on July 2.

State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said the 6.47-hectare water theme park is one of the latest tourist attractions in Selangor.

“We believe this water theme park will be a popular destination for leisure activities due to its strategic location near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

“Furthermore, with the opening of SplashMania, the number of foreign tourists visiting Selangor is expected to increase,” he said when contacted.

Hee said other new attractions in the state include Paya Indah Wetlands in Dengkil and several areas in Kuala Selangor and Sekinchan.

“With the various existing and upcoming tourist attractions in Selangor, we are confident that the target of five million tourists to the state can be achieved by the end of this year,” he added.

The Splash Mania water theme park, which opened on February 6, offers 39 exciting attractions, including 24 water slides and 15 key attractions, and can accommodate up to 4,000 visitors.
