KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 — The unity government will conduct a post-mortem on the six state elections, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said.
The Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) communications director said the bloc respects the people’s decisions in the polls and will study every aspect it needs to improve, including in terms of forecasted results by research firms.
“Many studies reported forecast results and had additional data, so we will take (into account) all these data and studies, including voter turnout projections.
“We will also look at the federal government’s efforts in addressing and solving public issues,” he told reporters after attending the state election results announcement ceremony at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur last night.
On the participation of Muda, which is said to have split support for the unity bloc, Fahmi said he is saddened by the issue.
“I think there was one seat — Sungai Kandis, I think it was — …I am saddened the split allowed PN (Perikatan Nasional) to win that seat, but I am not prepared to make more comments about it for the moment,” he said.
