KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 24 — The Conference of Rulers strongly condemns any form of violence, oppression and cruelty of the Israeli Zionist regime against the Palestinian people; furthermore, if it involves deaths, especially women and children.
The Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, said the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which has been going on since October 7, was discussed at the Pre-Meeting session of the 262nd Meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara today.
The Rulers also expressed disappointment as the international community and the world’s major powers have not reached a consensus on finding a solution to stop the conflict.
“Following that, the Rulers urge the Malaysian government to continue to speak out in defence of the Palestinian people and protest the continued oppression and tyranny of the Zionist regime of Israel on the international stage, based on humanitarian responsibilities,” he said in a statement.
Syed Danial said at the Pre-Meeting session the Rulers also expressed support and stood firm with the Malaysian government’s decades-long stance that the Palestinian people must be given back the absolute right to freedom from the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine.
“… the right to return the land seized by Israel and the right to form an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as the capital, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque will remain as a place of worship for Muslims,” he said.
The Conference of Rulers also urged the Malaysian government to continue to take initiatives and proactive measures on the international stage to find a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The Rulers also called on the people to continue to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and extend any form of humanitarian aid to ease their burden and suffering.
People, regardless of race and religion, are called to pray according to their faiths for the latest Palestinian-Israeli conflict to be stopped immediately, the Palestinian people protected, and their homeland freed from the occupation and oppression of the Israeli Zionist regime.
Syed Danial added the Rulers also called on mosques and surau, as well as Muslims in their own homes, to continue to hold Hajat prayers and ‘doa selamat’ for peace, to ask for the favour of Allah to protect the Palestinian people.
According to the official website of the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, the 262nd Meeting of the Conference of Rulers is held for three days, starting today.
Meanwhile, the 263rd (Special) Meeting of the Conference of Rulers will be held on Friday (October 27).
